This is the time of year when our fabulous tulip display will be at its best.
5th April (Easter Monday)
Easter Egg Festival. In 1285, during the visit to Chenies of Edward I, the earliest occurrence is recorded of eggs being cooked and given to the villagers to celebrate Easter. Following this tradition, we have egg races, sack races, Easter egg spotting throughout the house.

19th April
At the Tulip Festival, we host a Watford Observer-Chorleywood Bookshop Literary Lunch with Anna Pavord, author of best-seller Tulip and Bulb, published last year.

3rd May (Bank Holiday Monday)
Tulip Festival. Thousands of “Bloms” wonderful tulips displayed throughout the house and garden. Plants for sale, shop and delicious home-made teas.
Entertainment: White Thorn Morris Dancers.
Also “Tiptoe through the Tulips” – a five mile walk, to raise funds for the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre. Further details 01923 844290

31st May (Bank Holiday Monday) 2.00 - 5.00 pm
The British Driving Society AND Farm Day.
British Driving Society Chenies Carriage & Driving Day (10.00am to 4.00pm). There will be a competitive event with many classes and trade vehicles (contact Mrs S. Higgins on 01923 267919). Chenies Manor gardens will also be open from 10am and the historical 15th century Manor House from 2pm when teas will be served.
Farm Day. There will be vintage tractors on show and tractor rides for the children, together with our Yew Maze to get lost in! Stunning flower arrangements. throughout the house.

18th July Plant & Garden Fair
Our 12th Plant and Garden Fair with 60 specialist nurseries from all over the country. Rare and exceptional plants, topiary and trees. Gardening and plant advice, pottery, sculpture, gardending books, antique garden tools and accessories. Refreshments all day including lunch. Helen Yemm who writes for the Telegraph Garden will be there to answer your questions.

Free Garden visit included in the price. Adult £5.00 Children under 15 years £2.50 House visit £3.00 extra.

August 30th (Bank Holiday Monday)
Open 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
The house is steeped in history and supposed to be haunted by Henry VIII and a favourite of Elizabeth I. You can stroll around the beautiful gardens and enjoy delicious home made teas, also visit the two mazes and our shop. Visit the sixteenth century Pavilion with its unusual cellars. Sit on the vintage tractor and have a tractor ride around the farm.

October 27th and 28th
Spooks and Surprises: Two special scary afternoons for
children with
a
specially adapted tour of the house. Visit the two mazes and sixteenth
century pavilion with its unusual cellars. Come dressed for spooks!
The Pavilion Art Gallery is open during public opening hours of the house and gardens: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Bank Holiday Mondays from 2pm to 5pm.
There is no additional charge for admission to the Pavilion.
